Arch Angel MLD Trust

ArchAngel MLD Trust was established to support medical teams around the world who are working to help people with the rare genetic illness Metachromatic Leukodystrophy (MLD). ArchAngel also awards grants to help UK families with MLD affected children and is spearheading a campaign to have all UK babies screened for MLD (and other rare diseases) at birth.

Why Arch Angel?

The Arch Angel MLD Trust is an amazing charity set up by the parents of the fabulous Ava. Its a tiny charity with huge heart, that can make an absolutely massive difference in the lives of so many parents to be, if only more people knew about it, and could donate towards it!

 I met Ava's parents a few years before meeting the incredible Ava. They wowed me with their personalities then, but it was not until I met Ava, that she, and her family, melted my heart. A few years ago, my daughter Yasmine organised a school concert to help raise funds for The Arch Angel Trust, set up and run by Ava's amazing parents. It was most impressive as Yasmine was only 9 years old. She raised a fantastic amount of money from that one single, tiny school evening event. People were so generous. The cause was something that every parent feels for. 

I was looking through my Instagram account one day, when I saw a picture of Ava laughing her head off. She was SO happy in the picture, and knowing how hard times have been for her, this single image changed everything. Yasmine's innovation and her drive to do something had inspired me. And so having set up SIIXTEEN, I couldn't think of a better thing to do than to donate towards this fabulous charity.
