SIIXTEEN RAISING MONEY AND AWARENESS FOR THE INCREDIBLE ARCHANGEL TRUST

ArchAngel MLD Trust was established to support medical teams around the world who are working to help people with the rare genetic illness Metachromatic Leukodystrophy (MLD). ArchAngel also awards grants to help UK families with MLD affected children and is spearheading a campaign to have all UK babies screened for MLD (and other rare diseases) at birth.



A few years ago, I had the pleasure of meeting an absolutely gorgeous family at my best friends children's Christening. We had all recently had children and everything was hunky dory.  Roll on a few more years and I meet the wonderful family again, this time at my best friend's wedding! But what I hadn't expected to see was Ava being wheeled around in a pushchair. I think at this time Ava and my own daughter were just 6. It pulled at my heart. I knew at that single moment that I would do what I could, when I could, to help.

 I personally cannot imagine life as a child, not having the freedom of mobility to run around and to feel that buzz of movement. But there are children who do experience this, and look fear in the face daily. They are brave. They are strong. and they are wonderful. This is their life. But we can help them and their families to receive the expensive treatment needed with this rare genetic disease.
